Dock to dock, drawn in detail.

Six jobs, each done properly. The floor works from scanners, the office works from the console, and both write to the same append-only ledger.

Inbound

Receiving

The truck does not care what your paperwork says. Hangar receives what actually arrived and settles the difference by policy.

  • Against the PO or blind. The receipt is the document of record either way.
  • Over- and short-receipt tolerances per item group. Two percent on bearings, exact count on gaskets, and the dock does not negotiate.
  • Every confirmed line posts to the ledger the moment it is scanned.
Inbound

Directed putaway

Where stock goes should not live in one forklift driver's head. Putaway search sequences propose the right bin for every pallet.

  • Rules by item group. Heavy to ground level, fast movers near pack, overflow to reserve.
  • The scanner confirms bin and quantity. A wrong bin is caught at scan time, not at count time.
  • Bin full? The sequence proposes the next candidate, so nobody wanders the aisles.
Outbound

Waves and picking

Release orders into waves. Hangar breaks them into warehouse tasks and pushes each task to the next free scanner.

  • Push picking. Nobody stands at a terminal choosing work, the work finds them.
  • Built for contention. Two pickers on the same bin at the same time is the normal case, not a corruption bug.
  • Allocation you can trust. Allocated, picked and shipped are sums over the ledger, never counters that drift.
Outbound

Carton packing

Packing is where warehouse mistakes turn into customer phone calls. Hangar packs to the carton, not to the guess.

  • Scan items into cartons. The label always matches the contents, because it is generated from them.
  • Shorts surface at the pack bench, not after the truck leaves.
  • Carton contents post to the ledger like everything else. What shipped is on the record.
Accuracy

Cycle counting

Accuracy is a habit, not an annual event. Count frequency is set by item group and the counts schedule themselves.

  • Fast movers weekly, dead stock yearly. Effort goes where the risk is.
  • Counts are movements too. Adjustments post to the ledger with a reason code attached.
  • No wall-to-wall shutdown weekends.
The floor

Scanner-first, on any device

The scanner app runs in the browser on whatever hardware you already own: a rugged Android unit, a phone, a tablet zip-tied to a cart.

  • Every scan posts exactly once. Flaky Wi-Fi and impatient double-taps cannot double-post a movement.
  • Nothing to install and nothing to image. It is the same codebase as the console.
  • One shift to learn. The screen shows the task, the bin and the quantity, and that is the whole interface.
Underneath it all

One ledger under everything.

Every screen above writes to the sameappend-only record. No quantity is ever overwritten, balances are derived from movements, an audit is a query, and a correction is a new row that points at the one it reverses.
